FAQs

At Chicago Pulmonary Specialists, we try to anticipate any questions you might have about our program and provide the answers here on what to expect at your first and subsequent visits to our offices.

If you need additional information, please contact us at (847) 998-3434.

What do I need to do as a new patient?

Please arrive to your new patient appointment 30 minutes before your scheduled visit in order to complete paperwork, and for our staff to obtain vitals (blood pressure, pulse, etc.).

What should I bring to my new patient appointment?

Please forward to us, or bring with you, any copies of X-rays, labs, and any other relevant records to your office visit.

What will happen at the first visit?

Dr. Boas and his team of specialists will perform an initial evaluation to assess your condition and specific needs. If diagnostic tests are necessary, they will be performed in our office by individuals with specialized training.

How does this practice differ from hospital-based clinics?

At Chicago Pulmonary Specialists, we believe in providing our patients the best care possible; thus, we give them the time, care, and attention they need. In particular, we allow more than enough time for a thorough history, necessary tests, diagnostic assessments, therapeutic recommendations, and follow-up visits.

We not only care for the patient, but also for the patient’s family, which is particularly important when dealing with a chronic illness.

Why should I choose Chicago Pulmonary Specialists over other health care providers?

Our practice is a patient-centered medical home with our patients receiving individualized care. Our daytime hours are flexible with after-hours availability as opposed to restricted hospital clinic hours. Furthermore, our practice’s focus has always been on spending as much time as necessary to fully address our patient’s specific medical needs.

Dr. Boas has been caring for patients with respiratory conditions for over 25 years and fully appreciates how each patient is a unique individual requiring a specific treatment plan suited to their needs.

By possessing extensive experience, actively participating in the latest clinical research, and offering state-of-the-art medical technology all in one location, Dr. Boas and his team of specialists deliver the best and most advanced medical care to our patients.
