Chicago Pulmonary Specialists VACCINE UPDATE - Fall 2025 - Winter 2026
December 1, 2025: MESSAGE FROM DR. BOAS
As we are entering the 2025-2026 respiratory viral season, I wanted to provide clear guidance for steps in optimizing your health. Based on my review of the current medical literature as well as the recommendations form the American Academy of Pediatrics, I am strongly encouraging the following:
- Influenza Vaccine - All individuals greater than 6 months should receive the influenza vaccine.
- COVID-19 Booster - All children and adolescents from 2 to 18 years of age who are in a high-risk group should receive the annual booster. High risk is defined by the American Academy of Pediatrics of individuals having chronic pulmonary disease including asthma, cystic fibrosis, and any condition impacting the airways - Basically all individuals attending my pulmonary practice.
